Concept and series

Concept and Series uses the context of the book cover as an opportunity to experiment with different forms of imagery and text. This might be through the ways in which elements can be manipulated (for example, through print-making, illustration, collage and/or photography); through their response to different materials through papers, fabrics and bindings; or in their relationship to finishing techniques such as foil blocking, embossing, debossing and lamination. Consideration of genre, market and series identity are key to the development and presentation of appropriately crafted concept designs.
